Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-05-23. This Privacy Policy explains what data Jobs4Dentists collects about you, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

The data we collect depends on what you do on the Service:

  • Account information. Email address, password (hashed), role (dentist / employer / recruiter), and account creation date.
  • Dentist profile. Full name, dental license number and state, specialty, years of experience, current position, location preferences, bio, and a resume file if you upload one. You choose whether your profile is public or private.
  • Employer profile. Company name, organization type, website, logo, locations.
  • Activity. Jobs you post, jobs you apply to, application status changes, authentication events (sign-ins, sign-outs, password resets).
  • Technical. IP address, user-agent, and basic device info, captured by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.

We don't intentionally collect data from anyone under 18.

2. How we use your data

  • To operate the Service (show you the right pages, log you in, route applications).
  • To verify dentist licenses and employer business entities.
  • To send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, application notifications, account-security alerts).
  • To improve the product (which filters get used, which pages crash, anonymized).
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We don't sell your personal data. We don't serve third-party advertising.

3. What other users see

  • Public dentist profiles are visible to anyone browsing the directory. You control this with a toggle in your dashboard.
  • Job applicationsare visible only to the employer who posted the job and you. Other dentists don't see who applied to what.
  • Employer details (company name, type) attached to a job posting are public so candidates can evaluate the listing.

4. Sharing with third parties

We share data only with:

  • Service providers we use to run the platform: Supabase (database, auth), Hostinger (hosting), Resend (transactional email — when enabled).
  • Legal authoritiesin response to subpoenas, court orders, or law-enforcement requests we're legally required to honor.

We don't share with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add product analytics in the future, we'll prefer a privacy-friendly option (e.g. Plausible) that doesn't require a cookie banner.

6. Data retention

  • Active accounts: kept as long as the account exists.
  • Closed jobs: kept indefinitely so historical applications stay browsable to the parties involved (employer and applicant).
  • Auth logs: kept up to 90 days for abuse prevention.
  • If you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

US users have the right to access, correct, export, or delete their data. To exercise these rights:

  • Access & correct your data directly from your dashboard (profile fields, application history, posted jobs).
  • Request a copy of your data or its deletion by emailing support@jobs4dentists.com. We respond within 30 days. A self-service export and account-deletion flow is on the roadmap.

Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights (e.g. opt out of “sales” — note that we don't sell data so there's nothing to opt out of).

8. Security

Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). Sessions use httpOnly cookies. Database access is restricted by row-level security (RLS): dentists only see their own applications, employers only see applications to their own jobs. All traffic is HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold ourselves to industry standards.

9. International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the US, your data will be processed in the US, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. We're currently US-only and don't market the Service in the EU; if that changes, we'll update this section.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced to registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Effective” date at the top of the page always reflects the current version.
